Description
The Aleppo pepper, also called Halaby, is a traditional chili from the Syrian city of Aleppo and neighboring Turkish regions. Long and tapered, it ripens to a deep burgundy-red and is typically sun-dried and crushed into coarse flakes. With mild heat and a fruity, slightly oily flavor carrying notes of raisins, salt, and cumin, it is a cornerstone spice in Middle Eastern cuisine.
