Description
The Chiltepín, sometimes called the Mother of All Peppers, is a wild pepper native to northern Mexico and the American Southwest, believed to be the ancestor of all cultivated Capsicum annuum varieties. Its tiny round pods ripen to brilliant red with brief but intense heat and a fruity, slightly smoky flavor. Harvested wild for thousands of years, it is used dried or fresh in traditional Mexican salsas, soups, and condiments.
