Description

The Chiltepín Tarahumara is a wild-harvested variant traditionally gathered by the Tarahumara (Rarámuri) indigenous people of the Sierra Madre Occidental in Chihuahua, Mexico. Its small, round pods ripen to bright red with intense, fleeting heat and a complex fruity flavor. An important part of Tarahumara culinary tradition, it is used to season meat, beans, and traditional corn preparations and remains a symbol of indigenous foodways.
