Description

The Ghost Pepper (Bhut Jolokia) is a superhot chili from Northeast India — native to Assam, Nagaland, and Manipur — that held the Guinness World Record for the world's hottest pepper from 2007 to 2011. Its elongated, wrinkled pods ripen from green to vivid red, reaching 5–8 cm in length with a thin, crinkled skin. Despite its devastating heat, it carries a fruity, slightly sweet flavor and is used in traditional Indian cuisine, pickles, and fiery hot sauces worldwide.
