Description

The Italian Pepperoncini is a classic Mediterranean sweet pepper producing long, slightly wrinkled pods that ripen from pale yellow-green to red with virtually no heat and a pleasantly sweet, mildly tangy flavor. Extremely popular for pickling — jarred pickled pepperoncini are a staple on Italian-American restaurant tables and deli counters — these tender peppers are also used fresh in salads, antipasto platters, and sandwiches. Widely grown across Southern Italy and Greece, where the same pepper is known as florini and is equally treasured.
