Description
The Jaloro is the world's first yellow jalapeño variety, developed by the Texas AgriLife Research Center in 1992, offering the same characteristic grassy jalapeño flavor and mild heat but with a striking golden yellow pod color. Its thick, cylindrical pods ripen from green through yellow — never reaching red — with slightly milder heat than a standard jalapeño and an added fruity sweetness. A distinctive variety used fresh, pickled, or in hot sauces where its yellow color creates visually appealing golden preparations.
