Description
The Trinidad Moruga Scorpion held the Guinness World Record for hottest chili from 2012 to 2013 with some individual pods testing above 2 million SHU surpassing even the Carolina Reaper on certain measurements. Native to the Moruga district of Trinidad this round heavily textured pepper with a small scorpion-like tail delivers an initially fruity and floral flavor before unleashing a slow-building and sustained wave of extreme heat. Despite its ferocity it remains prized by superhot enthusiasts for its complex flavor profile used in specialty hot sauces and extreme culinary challenges.
