Description
The Naga Viper is a British hybrid chili created by farmer Gerald Fowler in Cumbria by crossing the Naga Morich Bhut Jolokia and Trinidad Scorpion peppers producing wrinkled elongated pods of 5 to 7 cm that ripen to a vivid red. At 1 382 100 SHU it held the Guinness World Record as the world's hottest chili briefly in 2011 before being surpassed by subsequent superhot varieties. Despite its extreme heat it retains a genuine fruity flavor characteristic of its Naga heritage and is sought after by specialist hot sauce producers and superhot enthusiasts worldwide.
