Description
The NuMex Sunset is a New Mexico-type chile pepper developed alongside NuMex Sunrise in 1988 at New Mexico State University by Dr. Paul Bosland producing long tapered pods that ripen to a warm orange rather than the traditional red creating a distinctive warm-toned visual element in fresh markets and decorative ristras. With mild heat and a slightly sweet clean flavor it is enjoyed fresh roasted and dried and pairs beautifully with the yellow NuMex Sunrise and traditional red varieties in colorful multi-toned ristra arrangements. Together this color trio diversifies the visual heritage of New Mexican chile culture.
