Description
The Poblano is a mild Mexican chili pepper from the state of Puebla producing wide heart-shaped pods of 10-13 cm with thick flesh dark green skin and mild earthly heat of 1,000-2,000 SHU making it one of the most versatile and beloved peppers in Mexican cuisine. Fresh it is the definitive pepper for Chiles en Nogada and Chile Relleno two of Mexico's most iconic dishes and when dried and smoked it becomes the Ancho chile an essential ingredient in mole sauces. The Poblano's combination of substantial size mild heat and complex earthy flavor has made it indispensable across Mexican cooking and increasingly popular internationally.
