Description
The Pusa Jwala is a prominent Indian chili variety developed by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in New Delhi producing long slender pods that ripen from green to red with moderate to hot pungency of 30,000-50,000 SHU and a clean direct heat characteristic of Indian green chili peppers. Widely cultivated across India for both fresh use and chili powder production it is one of the most important commercial chili varieties in the country known for its consistent heat reliable yield and good disease resistance. Fundamental to Indian cooking it is used in curries chutneys pickles and as the standard fresh green chili in countless regional preparations.
