Description

The Takanotsume (meaning "hawk's claw" in Japanese) is a traditional chili producing small curved pods of 3-5 cm resembling a bird's talon that ripen to vivid red. With 20,000-30,000 SHU it delivers a clean sharp heat. Indispensable in Japanese cooking it is used dried whole in oil-based dishes ramen togarashi spice blends and rice crackers and is the most widely used dried chili in Japan.
