Description
The Tampiqueño is a serrano-type chili from the Tampico region of Mexico producing long thin pods of 7-10 cm that ripen from green to red with heat of 20,000-35,000 SHU and a bright tangy flavor typical of serranos. Named after the port city of Tampico in Tamaulipas state it is a regional favorite used fresh in salsas pico de gallo and cooked sauces throughout northeastern Mexico.
