Description
The Zimbabwe Bird is a small bird's eye chili indigenous to Zimbabwe producing tiny upright pods of 2-4 cm that ripen from green to vivid red with sharp heat of 30,000-50,000 SHU. Used fresh and dried in traditional Zimbabwean cooking it is fundamental to the local cuisine's spice character. Related to other African bird's eye chilies it has naturalized across the region and is harvested from both wild plants and cultivated crops for local markets and home cooking.
